About Us

Hello,

My name is Clint Hawkins.

Gunsmithing puts to use extensive skills and experience that I have developed since I became an Aviation Machinist’s Mate in the Navy. Since then, for the past 45 years, I have been in a Field Engineer/Technician position of one kind or another, for a number of corporations. Gunsmithing gives me an opportunity to do something I love, work on things; in an atmosphere I love, guns and shooting; at a place I love, home; for people I enjoy being with, hunters, shooters, responsible people.

I have enjoyed the hunting and shooting sports since the age of eleven, when my Dad gave me my first Marlin .22 bolt-action rifle. That was followed by summer Boy Scout marksmanship classes at Camp McLoughlin in southern Oregon. I did well with the M1 and Thompson in the military. Fun!

Since opening my own shop over three years ago, I have had quite a variety of firearms come through. Some have even come in plastic bags with the owner at a loss after his son took it apart “to see how it worked.” I’ve made some neat custom guns, the fanciest being a Ruger 10/22 converted to .17 Mach 2 with a thumbhole stock, graphite barrel, flashlight and laser sights for varmint hunting. For the three years prior to opening my shop, I was the gunsmith at Range Masters Shooting Range in Springville, UT, servicing everything from .22 Berretta pistols to M-16 machine guns, including Israel Military Industries, H & K and other exotic items. They are one of my prime sources of reference, along with Cabela’s, Sportsmen’s Warehouse and Cal-Ranch to name a few.

I have an advantage of being a student of American Gunsmithing Institute, already certified at various levels, with constant exposure to the direction of my instructors. When completed, I will be a Certified Master Gunsmith. As a member of AGI’s Inner Circle, now Gun Club of America, I have the further printed and audio/visual access to up-to-date developments in gunsmithing technology and technique, with direct on-line and telephone connection. As a member of the American Gunsmithing Association, I have similar connections.

I also have an advantageous location of being nearly midway down the valley and against the mountains in Provo, a short drive off the I-15 Freeway from the Center Street ramp.

You will benefit from quality work, superior service to the client, convenience in location, competitive pricing and a projected extensive outreach to the community that currently just does not exist.
